An in-demand woodwind artist currently residing in New York City, Ben Harris is a versatile and sensitive musician skilled in playing all flutes, oboes, clarinets, and saxophones. Proficient in playing a variety of genres and styles, he can most often be heard in the pit of the musical theatre.

Most recently, Ben began subbing on the Tony Award winning Best Musical Maybe Happy Ending, and the acclaimed Off-Broadway revival of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. In early 2026, he was a part of the show All Out, featuring the music of Grammy-nominated soul pop band, Lawrence. Ben made his Broadway debut subbing the Reed 1 chair of Beetlejuice in December 2025.

He can be heard on the debut release of Grace Yurchuk’s viral musical Caesar: The Musical and on theatre composer Sam Nasar’s album Sam & Company featuring some of Broadway’s top talent. He will also be heard on Nasar’s upcoming album Unknown World.

Under the tutelage of world-renowned saxophonist, teacher, and historian Dr. Paul Cohen, Ben earned his Bachelor of Music Degree in Classical Saxophone Performance from Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of the Arts in 2023. Ben graduated with a Master of Music in Woodwind Doubling from Montclair State University in 2025, studying under esteemed New York City musicians — flutist Janet Arms, oboists John Upton and Lillian Copeland, clarinetist Ben Baron, and saxophonist Chad Smith.

With a passion for teaching, Ben runs a private home studio teaching a variety of instruments to students in grades 4 through 12. He is currently accepting private students in the NYC / North Jersey region on any of the saxophones, clarinets, flutes, and oboes - Contact for more details.

Ben makes personal health and wellness a priority in his everyday life. He is a RYT-200 certified yoga instructor who understands the deep relationship between music and fitness.
